I wanted to do something distinct and simplistic in the way of photographing flowers. Here I used the Bottlebrush flower because of its textures and initially had it on a white light table. During post production on it the discovery process of using the solarized technique I felt captured the spirit of what I was intending. It's silvery outlines of the flower against an inky black void had a much more intriguing sensory appeal to me as the viewer.
