Standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon is an experience that defies description. The sheer immensity is hard to comprehend even when standing on its edge. From this vantage point, 3000 feet below the Colorado River flows into the setting winter sun. The Paiute word for this place translates into "barren valley,' the title of this photo paying homage to the first people to lay eyes on this scene.
