While there have been many pet portraits captured throughout the history, the concept of "pet portrait photography" is not widely known in Japan. In this approach, lighting techniques and post-photography retouching were used instead of relying on backgrounds or props. The focus was on the subjects themselves, allowing their personalities to shine through and making the portraits truly unique.
