In the early days of Kinmen Island(under the rulership of Taiwan), due to excessive felling of trees, the northeast monsoon intensified in winter, and the oncoming sandstorm made farming very difficult. Therefore, people worship "Wind Lion God" and pray for peaceful life, and “Wind Lion God” becomes the spiritual comfort of Kinmen people. The modeling of the Wind Lion Gods varies from the solemn types to the amiable and cute types, reflecting the change of time and the adjustment of local people’s mind. But people's respect and worship would never change.
