A village that is a metaphor of the turmoil and adventure of human vicessitudes. Established at 1400 a.s.l. to watch aginst bands of bandits, destroyed by repeated earthquakes, rebuilt over and over...Finally, its people realized life was easier in the valleys and abandoned it (1950s). Meanwhile, the wolves inhabiting the mystical mountains around it, who were once fiercely persecuted, became protected and the howls started resounding more vigorous all around (1970s). Then, unexpectedly, the village was chosen as the main location for an American blockbuster film, Ladyhawk, telling of the love between a wolf-man and an hawk-woman (1980s). This gave a new chance to the abandoned village. Now, a new generation is back up, trying to rebuild a life different from the warring and pastoral one of the past centuries. A life made of tourism and watching the infinity from the top of the Wolflands.
