Safety

The artwork "Safety" indeed revolves around the theme of safety. The portrayed giraffe is captured in the moment of eating, while other members of her tribe are vigilant, observing their surroundings for potential predators. They are not depicted in the picture because they are on alert, raising their guards. The giraffe enjoying its meal represents the safe place within this composition. The artwork "Safety" belongs to the cycle "Psyche". Monika Wanat has been working in this cycle since 2014. The cycle is devoted to emotions. Each person she photographs has their own personality. She treats every animal as a person too, and photographs them the same way as humans. Everybody has the right to emotions and soul. Regardless of origin, differences, or similarities, we are one interdependent whole. Artworks for this series were created in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
