Alex Sutula

My background stems from a grandfather who was a cabinet making in Austria and migrated to the states with my mother and family through his ability. He made a living creating and I have always been inspired by people who do. I was raised in a blue collar city where most of the men before me built things with their hands. My generation has expanded this to make a living as makers, men and woman equally create, and it is my desire to showcase them with this series. This project started a few years ago with people I know, then I have been reaching out to and adding more American Craftspeople in Cleveland, Atlanta, NYC, and the Hudson Valley. This group of people are dedicated and share in the ability create with their hands. I am inspired by them and their dedication to their craft. They are blacksmiths, potters, hat makers, artists, clothing designers, sculptors, jewelry makers, and glass blowers, to name a few
