Thirst

The artwork "Thirst" is a portrait depicting a thirsty giraffe and elephants heading towards a waterhole together. "Thirst" illustrates how a fundamental need and a shared goal can organize a small group within wildlife society, even among different species. The artwork "Thirst" is part of the "Psyche" series, a project Monika Wanat has been working on since 2014. This series focuses on emotions, attributing each photographed person with their unique personality. Wanat treats every animal as an individual as well, capturing them with the same approach as humans. Everyone has the right to emotions and a soul, irrespective of their origin, differences, or similarities. Artworks in this series were created across Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America.
