(August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben, 1798-1874) I've always wanted to experience Goðafoss in winter, but when I was there I actually felt like I was in the poem by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben: it was bitterly cold, a strong wind was blowing from the north-east and it was snowing almost non-stop . While the waterfall was a spectacular sight, I wished there was some color in the sky at sunrise and sunset.
