The surprise of life

Imagine a journey through Patagonia that starts like this: weeks of extreme storm, bad weather, rain & snow. And then, there is this one day where it clears up, so you’re driving to a specific sunset spot you waited for weeks to go to but on the way there your car got stuck in mud. Alone, with no one around for hours I ended up barefoot at 3 degrees in deep mud desperately trying to free my car. I placed rocks under the tires and after what felt like forever, many trial and errors, I finally managed to somehow free my car and drive back to an asphalted road. My car (inside and outside) and I were covered with mud, exhausted, but happy to be free. I had to give up my dream spot and decided to drive back. I was pretty frustrated. Nothing really has worked out as planned so far. But as the skies cleared more and more, I decided to take a stop on my way back and hike a bit to take some shots of the majestic Mt. Fitzroy during sunset. That's when the magic happened. I haven’t expected anything and out of nowhere a Guanaco appeared and walked to the best spot possible. It was such a surreal moment. The mountain scenery, the weather, the mood, the guanaco, everything was perfect. It felt like a surreal dream. At the end, every struggle, every wrong turn, and every moment I thought I'd lost it all - it all led me right here. My journey, filled with trials and errors, unexpectedly became my guide, steering me towards this one-of-a-kind moment. It showed me life is still full of beautiful surprises. Sometimes these challenging experiences can unexpectedly guide us to the most meaningful and beautiful moments. This photo will always remind myself of that.
