I went to photographs birds at sunset in Marais Leon Provancher Natural Reserve, Quebec, Canada. As the sun was rising, I noticed these dead trees far away, on the other side of the marsh. The light was fantastic, and the morning mist was creating a peaceful ambiance. I stopped paying attention to the birds as I was admiring the landscape. I decided to remove my 1.4X Teleconverter from my 500mm lens in order to capture this scene with enough space on each side of the trees. There was no wind, the surface of the marsh was like a mirror. In post-processing, I decided to reframe squarely the scene to have a better balance, to better convey my feeling, and to give more emphasis to the trees and their reflection on the water.
