I discovered this still life in a side room of a bookshop in Singapore. The bookstore specializes in unusual books that are difficult to find in normal bookstores. I immediately recognized the connection between Diat Coke and Instamatic, but I'm not sure if the "still life" was arranged that way on purpose or if it was a coincidence. The launch of Diat Coke and Kodak's Instamatic cameras was virtually simultaneous in 1963. The products were extremely successful in the 1960s and 1970s and sold millions of units. Diat Coke still exists, but Instamatic production was discontinued in 1988.
