This self-portrait is from the series, "This Room Will Survive Me". Here a room— any structure within, between and surrounding buildings and the natural environment, functions as metaphor in a concept of architecture incorporating time, solitude and the ongoing search for belonging. The process involves a scanned instant print created with obsolete professional instant camera and expired Fuji FP-100C professional instant film. This image is composited with "Instant Photo Chemical Press" which is the result of an experimental process that proceeds as follows: After the instant film develops and is peeled away from its negative, moist emulsion residue on top of the film negative is pressed to the back of a dry print, creating a unique version of captured image.
