Echoes of Freedom

On March 14, 1903, the prominent Kurdish leader and father of the Kurdish nation, Mulla Mustafa Barzani, was born. For more than half a century, he dedicated himself to the struggle for the freedom of his people. The birth of General Mountain symbolized hope for an oppressed people and a country under tyranny. From the beginning of his life, Mustafa Barzani was intertwined with the sufferings of his people. This made him a prominent and charismatic leader who became a symbol of the liberation struggle of Kurdistan. History will forever honor him and even after his death he remains immortal among his people and in the memories of revolutionaries and freedom fighters worldwide. Every year on March 14, Kurds in Kurdistan hold grand ceremonies to commemorate and honor the memory of Mulla Mustafa Barzani.
