I used fireworks as a motif to express the feelings contained in a momentary trace of light. The origin of these fireworks is the dedication to requiem , consolation, and memorial to the spirits of the dead. And fireworks are a part of the Japanese culture, and are a way of remembering and thanking ancestors, and praying for peace. This project attempted to re-recognize the roots of fireworks by capturing the various connotations, feelings and phenomena contained in a single firework as an inner world created by light. I used fireworks as a motif to express the feelings contained in a momentary trace of light. I took photographs not of the fireworks as a whole, but of their cores, after shadows, smoke screens, etc., using slow shutter speeds and handheld shots, and in some of the works I also incorporated montage.
