Lazarus

Recently, I have been focusing on creating cleaner images to appeal to a wider audience. One day, I came across a publication by a model stating that a true photographer should erase all skin imperfections and reshape body forms. My initial reaction was of surprise, as I believe my role is to document what I see or want to communicate, rather than adhere to constructed beauty standards. This comment stayed with me because I am opposed to reshaping body forms or erasing all skin imperfections. These features contribute to an individual's uniqueness. Simultaneously, I realized that I had been creating images for the general audience rather than following my artistic inspiration. This led me to revisit my photo library, select an image, make some adjustments, and add visual elements. When I showed it to my wife, she remarked that it resembled Lazarus rising from resurrection. This marked a return to incorporating grunge, dark, and mysterious elements into my art.
