The wild dog or painted dog is one of the world’s most endangered mammals. The largest populations remain in southern Africa . I was able to observe and photograph this pack of Wild dogs in the Okavango delta in Botswana in 2023. There were 14 pups , mostly not a lot of them survive . But on this evening they didn't have much to worry about. They were very active and ready to play . This social behaviour is a very important part of their education . I was able to follow them for 3 days , then the whole pack left...and disappeared into the delta.
