We wanted to create a pumpkin dress, but didn't want it to be a pretty dress - we were thinking more Tim Burton. We started to gather pumpkins, gourds and squash and created the dress first. We then got our model a lace dress and lace tights and boots and built her into the shot whilst laying her on a leaf backdrop. The makeup artist created a look that was more edgy than sweet and we spread her auburn hair out around her head. We finished by adding the orange gourds into her hands and asked her to look up at the camera directly above her but not smile.
