Here is a steep staircase that looks like the wall of Atago Shrine in Japan. January 6, the day the photo was taken, was the first day of work for the year. Unfortunately, despite the rain and cold weather, people who came to work climbed these stairs to Hatsumōde. Hatsumōde is one of the major Japanese traditions of the new year, which is the first visit to a Buddhist temple or Shinto shrine visit of the Japanese New Year.
