Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, grab your popcorn, take your seats, the show is about to begin. This portfolio captures for me timelessness and historical themes of the circus. The classic circus acts (clowns, jugglers, horses) are the anchors that have not changed. Technically, I embrace the traditional. I only use black-and-white film, little to no cropping, available light, and no digital. This process encompasses the authenticity that I feel when I am at a performance. I am drawn to the “classic” history that this nostalgia represents.
