In the heart of a bustling slum district in Dhaka, I found myself in the middle of a rhythm unlike any other—life humming through the narrow streets with relentless energy. As a foreigner walking through this neighborhood, I stood out. Eyes followed me, curious and cautious. But some met me with more than curiosity—they met me with joy. The boy in this image, perched in the back of a rickshaw, turned to me with a grin that broke through the noise. His wave was unprompted, pure, and full of something rare: openness. That wave—an innocent hello—was also a goodbye. The rickshaw moved on, the boy disappeared into the crowd, and the moment was gone. Hello Goodbye is about the brevity and brilliance of human connection. About how, even for a heartbeat, two lives can intersect—briefly seen, never forgotten. It is about the poetry of street life: the contrast of hardship and joy, the playfulness that exists even amid poverty, the gaze that sees without judgment. Street photography is not only about aesthetics; it is about presence. This frame holds no grand event, no prepared composition—only a boy’s natural response to being noticed, and the beauty of a world that smiles back.
