In this portrait series, I explore anthropomorphism by photographing animals as if they were human subjects. Each is treated as a unique individual, with personality brought to life through studio setups and detailed post-processing. I enhance features and create balanced, symmetrical compositions. This mirrors the visual language of classical portraiture while emphasizing the subject’s character. Lighting poses particular challenges, as some animals are sensitive to flash or behave unpredictably. In those cases, I adapt using ambient light and later unify tones and atmosphere through post-processing. The animals I focus on are often unconventional, unfamiliar, overlooked, or visually striking creatures not typically seen in portraiture. Rather than photographing common pets, I seek out subjects that provoke curiosity and empathy. Through refined composition and lighting, I blur the line between species, inviting viewers to recognize emotional depth in these animals. The result is a visual narrative that highlights their individuality and invites reflection on our connection with the natural world.
