Flame Forest was captured in 2025 within a secluded forest in Toronto, Canada. The series draws inspiration from Buddhist philosophy, which teaches that all external forms are composed of the Four Elements: earth, water, fire, and wind. Through intentional camera movement and long exposure techniques, the images transform the natural green of the forest (water) into dynamic streams of light, while earthy browns suggest the presence of soil. Vivid reds and glowing yellows evoke the essence of fire, and the sweeping, fluid motion of the lines symbolizes the invisible force of wind. This body of work seeks to transcend the literal representation of nature, inviting viewers into a contemplative space where light becomes a metaphor for impermanence and interconnectedness. By abstracting the forest into pure energy and color, the series reflects a deeper Buddhist worldview: that all things arise from elemental forces and dissolve back into them. Flame Forest is not merely a visual experiment—it is a philosophical dialogue rendered in motion and luminosity, challenging the observer to perceive beyond form and embrace the transient beauty of existence.
