A photo series inspired by the seer Cassandra from ancient Greek mythology which I shot in my studio. Cassandra, cursed by Apollo, is a tragic figure, strong but at the same time powerless because, though she accurately foresees the impending doom, nobody believes her, no matter if she pleads, rages, broods or seduces. This series is part of an ongoing project of mine as I am fascinated by the stories of strong, conflicted, unhappy, sometimes powerful, sometimes murderously mad women and mythic female figures like Cassandra, Medea, Clytemnestra, the Oracle of Delphi, but also Salome, or the Witches from Shakespeare's Macbeth.
