The November Full Moon of 2025 slowly begins its ascent over the still evening waters of Lake Lorne. Named the Hunter's Moon (or Beaver Moon) it was a perfect night to try and capture such an image, although this was not the finished composition I had in mind. Originally I had intended to include the moon as more of a feature in the scene by using a longer lens however, as is often the case, the end product just did not satisfy me creatively. Determined to come away with a photograph I would be proud of, and to justify the increasing number of mosquito bites I was enduring, I saw how the trajectory of the moon would place it directly into the middle of this very symmetrical tree, so a quick change of lens and some refinements in my position allowed me to create a photograph I'm extremely happy with.
