Wings Over Concrete is an ongoing photographic project that explores the relationship between birds and urban architecture. While cities are designed and built by people, they are also shared spaces where wildlife quietly adapts and survives. This chapter of the project was photographed across Dubai and Ajman in the United Arab Emirates. Modern skylines, iconic structures, and rapidly expanding urban environments create dramatic backdrops where flocks of birds move freely through the sky. Their formations appear for only a few seconds, forming lines, curves, and shapes that briefly transform the rigid geometry of buildings. By capturing these fleeting moments, the project highlights the contrast between permanence and movement. Towers, monuments, and structures remain fixed in place, while birds redraw the sky each day in unpredictable patterns. These images invite viewers to look beyond architecture itself and notice the quiet presence of nature within dense urban environments.
