Photography is light and shadow, imaged on a carrier (sensor or film). So it is not at all far-fetched that light can be played with in front of the camera. I have always been fascinated by this, because performing with lights in front of the camera can create many possibilities. It's a completely different kind of photography for me as a photographer. I am hardly behind the camera any more, but if you take it that way, in front of the camera (but I am still glad that you can't see me!). Many of my works have been created in this way. It needs a deeper examination of different light sources. So I was also able to live out my handicraft and shopping instincts to the full. I have now accumulated an arsenal of various torches, fairy lights, lasers and much more. In addition, I have experimentally made various attachments for these light sources, so that I could bring the lights into shape or into the flow. In the portrait project "Light Fusion" presented here, I was looking for the fusion of the light traces with the model, who was conventionally illuminated with a flash system. This work was demanding for the models. They could not find their poses while moving as usual, but had to stay in one pose for a longer time. The photos were taken in collaboration with the model and the make-up artist. Before the shoot, we still had a very vague idea of what the finish photo should look like. In each case it was a joint, creative process, which then led to the result through experimental testing.
