‘Tones of Dim’ is a collection of raw, unedited photos taken from my mobile phone and DSLR. The collection explores private and public ideas (often critical) of places, physical features, society, rest and desire. By utilizing abstract composition, reflections and darkness, I hope to access the realm of surrealism and discredit reality, thus challenging the ideas that pervade the subjects. I pay homage to the most famous surrealist, Salvador Dali, by including a section of his painting ‘The Elephants’ in my self-portrait.
