On its way to feed from the large flower on the left, the Golden Hour helped to lighten up this Fork-tailed Woodnymph, a small hummingbird native to the Amazon rainforest. The hummingbirds visit nectar giving flowers in a regular pattern to allow the replenishment of nectar within the flower. Their tiny tongues are evolutionary masterpieces strongly adapted to the target flowers, and demonstrated by a nectar licking speed of up to 20 times per second.
