This work takes the prefrontal cortex—the origin of human consciousness, desire, and memory—as a visual metaphorical field. Through the juxtaposition of male and female portrait imagery, it explores the dialogue between reason, desire, and the self. The left panel presents a female figure layered with ornamental patterns resembling cultural and mnemonic symbols, suggesting the elegant mask shaped by society. The right panel turns inward: fragmented facial structures and a vertically extending gaze form a masculine presence, evoking pathways of identity and self-projection within the mind. Through a collage structure, the two images contrast the construction of outward identity with the fragmentation of the inner psyche, forming a contemporary portrait language where civilization, desire, and self-awareness intersect.
