Shadow Witnesses

Shadow Witnesses examines a temporary construction site through shadow, drapery and diagonal structure. Two human silhouettes fall across steps partly covered by tarpaulins, while sharp lines of the staircase cut through the image like a graphic score. The figures are present only as shadows: observers, traces, or silent stand-ins within a space marked by transition and instability. The diptych shifts slightly in framing, allowing the relationship between body, surface and geometry to unfold with quiet tension. What appears documentary at first begins to feel staged by light itself. Fabric, rubble, shadow and concrete form a monochrome field in which presence is registered indirectly, as imprint rather than appearance. The work is less about construction than about witnessing: about how space records those who pass through it, and how temporary materials can become charged with stillness, exposure and latent human drama.
