The photographs deal with the problem of sexual orientation discrimination still present in many countries. The title refers to the marriage vow (“till death do us apart”) but puts a dark twist to it. In certain places, homosexual couples are oppressed to such extent that, ironically, only death can allow union of their hearts, because society never will. The author’s work aims to shed a light on the current situation of LGBT rights in his home country. Poland does not legally recognise same-sex marriages or same-sex civil unions, and LGBT community is still discriminated.
