Photographer's Profile
Glenn Kulbako Photography, United States
Glenn Kulbako was raised in Schenectady, NY, and studied photojournalism at Boston University. He has been a public relations and editorial photographer for over 20 years. His clients have included the Washington Post, Time Magazine, Toyota, Canada, Hart Energy, and Harvard University. Influenced by 20th Century art that stressed non-idealized reality, Glenn sought out the work of photographers Robert Frank, Jacob Holdt, and Eugene Atget. He had regular conversations with Clemens Kalischer in his Berkshires studio, and developed a deep appreciation of the existential paintings of Edward Hopper and Richard Estes. A former philosophy student, Glenn sees journalistic photography as a visual epistemology: a test for knowledge, and a means for capturing beauty in an ever-transforming reality. He published his first book, 'American Snapshot' in 2023.
