Laurie is an editorial and fine art photographer living in Marblehead, Massachusetts with extensive experience as a freelance contributor to the Boston Globe. Other editorial clients have included the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, Boston Common Magazine, the Associated Press, the Boston Herald, and the LA Times. Her photographs have been recognized with first place awards in the Southern and Northern Short Course contests of the National Press Photographers Association, as well as the Boston Press Photographers Association. They have been featured in Time-Life Books, the America 24/7 book project, and in various corporate and higher education materials. As a fine art photographer, Laurie was one of five photographers to be featured in Panoptican Gallery’s juried show “First Look 2022”. Her chosen series “Before Self-Consciousness” was also featured in the 8th Edition Regional Showcase of the Fence, an outdoor photography exhibit which opened in 2020 and was awarded an Honorable Mention in the International 2018 Monovisions photography competition. Laurie’s has also been shown in galleries in Athens, Crete, Johnson City, Texas, Boston and Winchester, Massachusetts. In June 2019, Laurie’s image “Lost” was included in A. Smith Gallery’s Open-Themed show in Johnson City, Texas. In August 2019, Laurie participated in A.Smith Gallery’s “Summertime” juried show with her print “Lake Dreams”. In August 2018, Laurie’s image “Warren’s Barn” was shown at the Chania International Photo Festival in Greece. She also participated in A. Smith Gallery’s portrait exhibition in Johnson City, Texas with her image “The Gator”. In 2017, Laurie’s images “Warren’s Barn” and “The Sled” were included in Blank Wall Gallery exhibitions in Athens.
