Photographer's Profile
United Kingdom
I treat everyday life itself as my subject. Life is not only a collection of events, but an accumulation of actions, habits, and embodied practices. Through photography, I attempt to make these invisible structures perceptible again. Rather than constructing scenes, I work with what already exists, composing minimally in order to reveal what is already there. My work explores a simple but persistent question: why do we perceive separation, when we may in fact share the same world? Instead of focusing on extraordinary events, I look at ordinary situations, windows, tables, streets, the gesture of placing an object, the distance between people. Within these moments, I search for both division and commonality. I hope that encountering my work creates a subtle shift in perception. If, after seeing the work, a viewer returns home and notices something differently, if a familiar gesture feels slightly altered, or the view outside a window appears new, then the work has fulfilled its role.
