Photographer's Profile
Canterbury Christ Church University, United Kingdom
I am a contemporary Photographic-based artist and Poet (Phoetrystra), whose work delves into the intersection of identity, culture, and human experience. Specialising in Black Aesthetics and Margalised Communities
Drawing inspiration from and the Old Masters of Painting, I explore these themes through various mediums, including painting, sculpture, Fashion, Film, Theatre, Music, and Photography. My artistry is characterized by a Freestyle Approach, which seamlessly blends traditional techniques with innovative approaches to create visually captivating and emotionally resonant pieces.
Central to my artistic practice is a commitment to storytelling and introspection. Each artwork serves as a narrative, inviting viewers to engage with themes of Intersectional Factors, Social Concepts, and Self-identity on a deeply personal level. Through my work, I seek to evoke a sense of empathy and connection, encouraging dialogue and reflection on the human condition.
In addition to studio practice, I am actively involved in the arts community, participating in exhibitions and collaborations both locally and nationally. My work has been featured in galleries, and public spaces, garnering acclaim for its authenticity and depth.
As I continue to evolve as a Phoetrystra and continue my full-time PhD in Black British Arts and Intersectionality, I remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of my creativity and exploring new avenues of expression. With each visual art piece and poem, I invite audiences on a journey of discovery, inviting them to see the world through a fresh perspective.
