This photograph was captured during a hike Hathersage, a small village located in the Peak District. My goal during the hike was to create photographs that represent the tranquility of the countryside. Throughout the hike, the rolling hills and intermingling wildlife were sporadically lit by the sunlight peaking through clouds. The absence of a skyline and color, the backlit outline of the sheep, and the focal point of the pheasant and sheep in the foreground were all calculated artistic choices meant to capture the stillness and harmony of the landscape.
