This photograph was taken as I stood on the White Cliffs of Dover. My goal was to capture the contradicting feelings of anxiety and serenity that I felt while standing on what seemed like the edge of the world. The contrast in scale between the people, the hill, and the haze in the air which blended the sky and the English Channel together added to the conceptual focus. I chose to use a longer lens so that I was able to frame the cliffs and focus on the people to illustrate an equality between the adventurer and the place of adventure.
