Dante's Inferno-Tableaux Vivants is a project in which evocative images of Dante’s infernal atmosphere come to life – images linked to an unconventional interpretation of dance that breaks with traditional and stereotypical views, leading to abstraction. Scenes of a surreal dance, a journey of the soul. An ethereal atmosphere of floating bodies designed to evoke wonder, the childlike amazement of someone who sees something they do not understand, something that defies the laws of physics experienced in everyday life. The dancers’ perfect geometries aim to fuel this magic, creating visionary yet, at the same time, harmonious tableaux. The tableaux vivants, which start from entirely real elements to arrive at surreal images, become the means to evoke evocative imagery, engaging and surprising the viewer.
